Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.
We are a faith-based, ecumenical, non-profit builder of simple, decent, and affordable homes in partnership with God's low-income people in our community.
*************** CURRENT EVENTS ***************On March 1, 2008 HfHMC and some 60 volunteers and invited guests joined Habitat partner/owner Jessica Candelaria in celebrating the dedication of her new home at 1147 Berwick Avenue in Youngstown. It was built through the joint efforts of the Habitat Women Build Committee and the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority's YouthBuild program.The home features four bedrooms, two baths, a full basement plus an attached garage. Other generous sponsors include First Energy, First Place Bank Community Foundation, the City of Youngstown, and Lowe's. This is the 25th house built by HfHMC since it was founded in 1989. THANK YOU to all of the dedicated volunteers and donors who made this needy family's dream become a reality!
Groundbreaking for the 27th Habitat-built house in Mahoning County took place on March 17, 2008 (St. Patrick's Day!) in Youngstown's St. Patrick Church neighborhood. Please call the church or our office (330-743-7244) for more information.
On March 22, 2008 HfHMC dedicated a new home at 1150 Dryden Avenue in Youngstown. Christina London and her family are the partner/owners of this home. This house was sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Mahoning County Lutheran community. Congratulations to our newest Partner/Owner
