What to Donate

Gifts in Kind:

If you have used materials or equipment to donate please give us a call. If we can’t use it in our houses, we can often sell it in our ReStore.

If you wish to donate new materials and/or equipment, please call 330-743-7244 and leave a message for our construction coordinator. He will discuss with you whether we can use your gift and how to arrange pickup or delivery – and how to make it a "gift in kind" for tax purposes. We can use any of the following if they meet our specifications:

  1. Foundation Materials and Cement
  2. Plumbing Materials: pipe, valves, faucets, sinks, commodes, vanities, tub/showers, sewer pipe, etc.
  3. Lumber, Roofing, Wrap, Insulation, Siding, Shutters

    • [ ] Washers and Dryers
    • [ ] Lighting Fixtures, Wall Plugs and Switches, Wiring and Switch Boxes
    • [ ] Furnaces, Ductwork, Vents, Thermostats
    • [ ] Flooring: Carpeting, Vinyl Tile, Ceramic Tile
    • [ ] Foundation Plantings, Lawn Seed, Top Soil

Tools:

We are always looking for more and better tools and construction equipment. We will consider both used and new in this case. Please call us at 330-743-7244 and leave a message for our construction coordinator. He will call back and determine whether we can use your donation – and how you can make it a "gift in kind" for tax purposes.

If you have a skilled trade or business that would like to donate it’s labor or materials to Habitat please let us know. We’d love to work with you!

Building Sites:

We are in real need of good building lots, either 50 footers or two 50s adjacent or larger. Please call 330-743-7244 and ask for our Site Selection Committee Chair. A direct transfer of your deed to Habitat is easy and free. Again this could be treated as a "Gift in Kind" for tax purposes. We can only accept lots that have all city and utility services: sewer, water, gas and electric. We are mandated to build only in Mahoning County but can only build where all services are available – generally in cities, townships and villages.
